Review
At last, it's here.  Tamiya's new Ferrari kit, the 360 Modena is available now.  The box art is beautiful, and it has IDA licensing logo and serial number on the box.  Mine says AC8111HE.  A brief inspection of the kit shows that the kit is well engineered as usual, and the proportion of the body seems accurate.  The side sills are separate, as well as the rear hatch, which has a hinge.  The rear part of the under tray is mold clear, and it's a snap-fit piece, so those who want to paint it, but still want to see the engine details can simply remove the piece.  I rather like to paint the under tray, so I think this is a good improvement.  A complete engine assembly is included, and the diamond Ferrari plate on the chamber is represented by a satin plated part.  The tires are Pirelli P-Zero Asymmetrico (sp?), and front tires are posable as usual.  The kit features drilled vented disks, and finely detailed calipers.  The instruction calls for black for the calipers, and I believe the sports package comes with red ones, so it would be an easy personalization work for your model.  The 360 Challenge cars feature gold calipers with red Brembo logos, and that will have to be taken from other kit or Fujimi's wheel/tire/disk set.  The interior features very good 3 dimensional curves, and the seats are relatively comfortable standard ones.  The bucket seats are available for the real car as an option, and again, it would be an easy modification to distinguish your model from others.  The kit represents the F1 shift, and Tamiya didn't include the standard shifter and the gate, which they could have done.  Sakatsu has a very good shifter kit, but the gate needs to be scratchbuild from a sheet plastic.  I'm almost certain that someone will eventually release a detail kit.  The kit contains a mesh sheet for the opening on the side sill, and metal transfer contains the horse on the rear, mirror faces, Ferrari logos on the intake chamber and rear hatch, pininfarina logos and 360 Modena for the dashboard.  Masking sheet for the windshield is included, but honestly, I prefer using one of those self adhesive foil for masking because it's much thinner.

I've already started the assembly, and I'm hoping to finish it during the holiday week, and upload it for the next update of my web page.
