| According to the seller at a swap meet, this is the only 1/16 E-Type kit ever produced. Whether he was right or not, I had to have this kit because of my enthusiasm in the Jaguars especially the E-Type. Almost all original parts are in the box except the front windshield, but that shouldn't be so difficult to vacuum form. The engine looks totally unrealistic, so the legendary straight six has to be scratchbuilt, and that will be very enjoyable. Luckily the factory service manual has enough drawings to help me make the engine in the right dimensions. Also, the front section of the chassis has to be made of plastic or metal beams, and the accurate dimensions can be obtained from the manual. Many parts will have to be scratchbuilt, so it's safe to say that this will be a semi scratchbuild project, but because of the size, it shouldn't be too difficult compared to say, 1/43. I'm sure it will take a long time to complete, and I might be able to afford the real one by then. (I wish...) | |||||||||||
