First, let's identify
which part has to be painted in the body color.
The body is mainly
separated into four pieces, the bumper, main body, engine cover and
wing. In addition, there are separate pieces for the lower side
intake, panels behind the doors and mirrors. |
When removing a part from the runner(*),
try not to cut too close to the part. Just leave the gate(*) a
little, and clean it with a file, after the part is removed from the
runner. |

|
It seemed that the engine cover was
interfering with the body part, so I filed the shaded area a little. |

|
In order for the engine cover to
shut tightly, I glued a piece of plastic on the inside of the engine
cover marked by the arrow. After glue is completely dry,
I filed the excess plastic, so that it can't be seen from the
outside. |

|
To make a rocking mechanism on the roof,
I left a part of the gate, and sharpened it. |

|
In order for the locking tab to grab
the body, I carved a line and made it bigger as shown.
|

|
Now, the cowl shuts very tightly.
I also sanded the side, where the engine cover and the body
meets, so that nether part is wider or narrower than the other.

I glued the front bumper and sanded
around the panel line to smooth the ridge along the panel line.
Also, there are three seam lines on one side of the main body
part, and I sanded and smoothed with Tamiya sand paper 1500. |
 |
Some parts can be painted without
removing from the runner. Here, the peg is connected to the
gate, so touch-up is not needed after they are painted and cut from
the runner. |
