2000年9月号の「トランジスタ技術」に「Ｌｉｎｕｘによるハードウェア設計・製作」と題した特集記事が組まれる。
この特集の中で小島三弘氏はＬｉｎｕｘを次のように紹介。

LinuxはLinus Torvalds氏が1991年、ヘルシンキ大学の学生だった頃に自分のIBM PC互換機上で大学のワークステーションと同じ環境を使うために作ったUNIX互換のカーネルである。（カーネルとはOSの核となる重要なプログラム）
また、Richard Stallman氏は1983年にフリーソフトだけでOSを構築しようとしてGNUプロジェクトを開始します。（ＧＮＵはGNU is NOT UNIXの略)
Ｌｉｎｕｓ氏がＬｉｎｕｘの開発を始めた頃にはＧＮＵプロジェクトによって、コンピュータを操作する為に必要なコマンド（ユーティリティ・プログラム）の

Puppy Linux
Puppy Linux is very light linux and able to enjoy by its live cd so We don't need install the distribution.
I was running Q'Tel and SvxLink for EchoLink since 2010 and I set up EchoLink-L link station by Puppy's SvxLink with 70cmBand TRX.
PupRadio was very usefull record tool for my studying English conversarion.

Puppy Linux は2010年の頃から沢山の派生バージョンを試してきた　PUP RADIOは大変重宝していたがLIVE CDが壊れて以降 2018年から使えていない　古いパソコンを処分してLINUXそのものから遠ざかって居たが NHKラジオの英語番組を録音して学習を再開したいと思い　中古パソコンを手に入れてインストールにトライしている　ところがLINUXやPUPPYの操作をすっかり忘れていてサウンドや日本語表記で躓いている　 Sep. 13 2025

I succeeded to install the Plamo Linux to my old laptop computer.
It was a win95 machine with MMX133 cpu and 48MB memory, 1.35GB HDD.
Plamo Linux is a group of Slackware Linux.

I found CentOS is related to RedHat. So I wanted to try CentOS.

Ubuntu8.04LTS をインストールしたノートパソコンで CentOS の実験。
USB HDDを別途用意してそこに CentOS をインストール。
内臓HDD（WindowsXP）にGRUBを置くデュアルブートにトライした。
