Revell 1/25
Jaguar XK-E
Interior
I didn't
scratchbuild any of the interior panels They fit nicely. Some details were
removed and re-created by various raw materials. |

I added the carpet by
first, applying a masking tape, and then creating the template. I used a
sheet of aftermarket self-adhesive carpet kit, but I forgot the name of the
manufacturer. |
The silver trim on the center
part of the interior was simulated by using Hasegawa's hex mesh sheet.
Although it's not accurate, (hex vs circular), it looks very close.
The gauge details were
smoothed, and the fascia was added. Then, I used some details to create the
gauges, and they were clear coated. The switches were sheet of plastic. |
The interior panels were
installed. I recommend not to cut corners in detailing the interior
especially for a convertible or roadster. |
Here's a picture from the
back. I touched up some aftermarket gauge decals to make them look more like
that of the Jaguar, and they worked great. |
The door and the window
roll-down handles were painted with ModelMaster's chrome. I believe it's the
best chrome paint for brush painting. |
The radio face was made by
first, gluing a small wire on a sheet of plastic to represent the frame, and
then the buttons and other details were added. |
