Fujimi has announced that they will release a brand-new kit of Nissan
Laurel (C230) from 1977...but why? (All new 5th gen Skyline (C210) kits are
forthcoming, maybe?)

Japanese retailers have began taking pre-order for Fujimi's 997 GT3R Good
Smile Racing livery (or simply Miku Porsche),
which is due out late Jan 2011 for 4725 yen (4500 + tax). There will be two versions; Round 5 Sugo,
and Round 6 Suzuka. (Miku's decals are changed during the 2010 season) Now
aftermarket decal manufacturers, get to work!

Tamiya has announced that they'll release a fully detailed 1/24 scale
plastic kit of the Lexus LFA in February 2011. A real car will be displayed
at Tamiya Fair on Nov. 20-21 in Shizuoka, Japan.

The usual store has posted more than 1000 photos taken at this fall's
Plastic and Radio Control Model Show where you can see some prototypes of
the upcoming kits, including Aoshima's Impreza and SL65 Black, as well as
Fujimi's Lotus 97T. My personal favorite is Fujimi's Porsche 997 GT3R! (the
first 997 in plastic)

7/11/2010: 997 GT3R by Fujimi?
Japanese Super GT entrant Good Smile Racing's 2010 GT3R has been
revealed to the public, and photos have began to circulate online. Included
in the fresh color scheme is a familiar Fujimi logo on the door. Will there be
a completely new 997 GT3R kit, or just an existing kit w/ decals? We'll
probably find out more by the fall hobby show.

4/6/2010
Tamiya abruptly announced the release of 1/20 scale Lotus 79 kit, which is
scheduled to be available in late May 2010. Japanese MSRP is 4200 yen (incl. tax), and a separate PE
set will also be available (1890 yen) around the same time. It's unknown whether the DFV unit is all-new, or
a recycled one from their old kits. Also, Goodyear logo doesn't appear on
the box,
so it will probably be omitted.
Coincidentally, a brief detail on Hasegawa's previously announced Lotus
79 emerged. The all-new kit will include Cartograf decals, and is
competitively priced at 3780 yen.
3/16/2010
Fujimi has announced release info on the 3rd generation (2009-) Prius
kit, which is scheduled to be available in late April for the MSRP of 2730
yen (street price is approx. 1900 yen).
Revell Germany has announced its plan to release three(!) F1 kits from
the 2010 season in 1/24 scale; Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren.
2/4/2010
Tamiya will be releasing 1/24 scale plastic model of the Aston Martin DBS
(new tool) and Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 edition (modified reissue), as well as
reissuing the Porsche 935/97.
1/6/2010
Fujimi has announced their next F1 kit, which is the FW16 (but what
happened to the previously announced FW14B kit?)
