MY DOS/V MACHINE

さらに、NIFTY SERVE のフォーラム FPCU2 の１６番会議室（AMD USERの会議室）で、この K5-PR166 の機能である Write Allocate を有効にする DEVICE　を作成された方がいらっしゃって、それをいただき早速 config.sys に組み込みました。その結果は驚異的な数字が出てきました。

　このマシンも中古です。オリジナルは INTEL 486DX-100 が搭載されていましたが、AMD社の互換CPUAMD 5x86-P75/133 に換装しています。このCPUは133MHzで動作して INTEL Pentium 75MHz と同等のパフォーマンスを得ることが出来る、486互換CPUです。
　このCPUをベースクロックを 33MHz から 40MHz にクロックアップして、４倍速動作の 160MHz で使っています。
　このCPUはなんと言っても安いです。実勢価格はなんと \5000 をきっています。CPUクーラーとCPUを合わせても、余裕で \10000 をきることができます。コストパフォーマンス抜群です。
　INTEL 486DX2-66 とかのマシンにも使えるので、お持ちのマシンが該当機種なら試す価値大ありですよ。ただし、メーカーの保証外の改造ですからその点は承知して行いましょう。

　あとは特に改造はしていません。メモリは Windows95 を使っているのに 16MB しか搭載していません。(^_^;)　もっともこのマシンは Windows3.1から Windows95 への移行のための練習機の為に入手したのでいいんです。
　HDD もオリジナルのままの 500MB 弱ですし、ビデオチップはオンボードの CL-5434 ですから遅いです。CD-ROM DRIVE は２倍速だし・・・・「ださださ」と言われそうですね。(^^)
