Throughout the modification and elimination of seam lines, I used Gunze
Sangyo's Mr. Surfacer bottle to fill the small scratches. |
 |
Finally Gunze Sangyo Mr. Surfacer spray was applied. I'm planning to
paint the body in a metallic color. Metallic paints are transparent in some degrees,
and if there are any scratches on the body, they will appear when painting is finished, so
the base coat is critical.

I had to use one of those epoxy resin to duplicate the tail light parts
because I couldn't obtain a clear resin in time. Anyway, after the mold is done, I
cut the grooves so that it doesn't trap air bubbles. Then, put the mold together,
pour resin. Wait for a while, and take the cured parts out. Resin casting
requires some practice, but it does help build a distinctive model from others. |

I used Detail Master's carpet material to duplicate the carpet of the R/M
Boxster kit. |
 |
I used a fine pen to paint the raised part of the rear wind deflector.
This requires a lot of patience, but it pays off once it's done. |
 |
The base coat was painted with Gunze's water-base acrylics. The
windshield was masked with Bare Metal, but this product leaves residues once peeled off,
so I personally recommend to use Modeler's Meta-Look for serious modelers, who use metal
foil for masking. |
