The first modification I did was to enhance the appearance of
the door handle assembly by scribing the groove around it. Using a sharp knife, I
marked the line so that the knife won't derail in the second step.
Step 2
The sharp side up, perpendicular to the line.
Then, I put the knife perpendicular to the line, and started
engraving. I moved the knife in very small intervals from "left to right"
every time lengthening the groove, while the groove itself was engraved in a
counterclockwise direction.
The result
It looks a bit wide, but it should look alright once primer
and base coat are applied. The key hole can be replaced with a thin slice of a
plastic rod.
Gunze Sangyo Mr. Surfacer was applied to see if there were any unnecessary
scratches.
