Tamiya's
finishing paper 1500 grit was used to smooth the roof. As you can
see, an orange peel like texture is noticeable. I sanded more
until the surface was evenly smoothed. |
Then,
I used Detail Master's polishing cloths, starting from 6000 grit. Every time
I advance the grit number, I changed the direction 90 degrees. When
using the polishing clothes, your finger can feel if the surface is
smoothed or not by how much force you need to put and the sound of stroke.

Paint
job was finished, and the hood and trunk lid were glued to the body.
Once the body is finished, the next task is to paint the grooves. |
Since
the body is lacquer base acrylic, the enamel paint doesn't affect the body
paint. I used Tamiya's enamel paint, and I thinned it enough so that
it flows along the groove by itself. The pictures show both
"before" and "after" of this task. |
