Foil Casting After spraying
several coats of paint, the raised scripts tend to get blur. Foil casting is a useful technique
to duplicate those raised emblems and scripts before painting. Foil is
usually chrome, so there will be no paint necessary to create a realistic
script. If it's successfully
duplicated, it's possible to eliminate the scripts and replace them with the new ones.
Even if you screw up, you can try until you're satisfied. It's really
easy. |
What you need Self Adhesive Foil, 5 Minutes
Epoxy Glue, Toothpick, Q-Tip. |
 |
First, fold the foil, leaving about 1/3 of
sticky area.
Place it over the emblem or script you want to duplicate, and push it gently
with your finger to form a rough shape of the object.
Use Q-Top and toothpick to emboss the detail. (Thinned black
paint is applied to emphasize the detail in the photo) |
 |
Flip over the foil carefully, and apply 5
minutes epoxy to fix the embossed pattern. Once it's hardened, trim the
excess with a sharp knife. |
