I started buying this magazine
very recently, and now I'm buying the back issues whenever I found at used
bookstore. This magazine is very informative, and excellent for car
modeling. It covers the changes from race to race, and many close up
photos are included in each issue. It also has the pages for rally
car models, and radio controlled cars. |

Review (July 27, 2000) |
This volume of Rally Spirit covers
the race from the Rd. 2 Swedish to Rd.4 Portugal. The front, rear and side of
major cars from those three races are shown, and it has many close ups to
show the differences for each race. It has 1/1 replica of the
enthusiasts, and most of them are thoroughly done. The model kit
reviews included in this issue are the Tamiya Peugeot 206 '99 Tour de
Corse and Impreza '96 Safari conversion from the Hasegawa's 93 RAC Rally
kit. Close up pictures of the 206 are included to help a modeler
super detail the Tamiya kit. This volume has many useful photos for
model building. |

Review (July 24, 2000) |
This volume of Rally Spirit covers
the round 5 Rallye Catalunya and round 6 Rally Argentina. One page,
about 10-12 pictures, are used for each cars, and they are the Subaru,
Ford, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Seat, Skoda and Hyundai. Some of them
have a picture of the engine, and some have a picture of the cockpit
details. So, this issue is not so useful for super detailing.
The models covered in this issue are Hasegawa's 1/24 scale Carolla 2000
Monte Carlo version and Tamiya's Escort 93 Tour de Corse conversion. |
Where to buy. |
In general, Japanese Magazines can be purchased through Japanese book
stores around the world. In the U.S., Kinokuniya and Asahiya are
reliable book chains. The clerks don't necessarily speak English
well, so be patient.
