The Miura Peninsula — A Hidden Gem of Kanagawa
三浦半島 ― 神奈川の隠れた宝
Stretching southward from Yokohama into Tokyo Bay and the Pacific Ocean, the Miura Peninsula is one of the most rewarding day trips from Tokyo that most visitors never take. Sandwiched between the famous destinations of Kamakura to the west and the urban sprawl of Yokohama to the north, Miura quietly goes about its own life — fishing, farming, watching the sea.
The peninsula is roughly 30 kilometres from tip to top, and covers an area of about 100 km². Its coastline is extraordinarily varied: dramatic rocky cliffs on the Pacific side, calm and sheltered bays on the Tokyo Bay side, sandy beaches popular in summer, and hidden coves that reward those willing to walk a little further.
This is the landscape I grew up in. I hope this page gives you a reason to visit.

Local Food — What to Eat on the Peninsula
三浦半島のグルメ ― ぜひ食べたいもの
The Miura Peninsula is one of the finest places in the greater Tokyo area to eat seafood. With both Tokyo Bay and the Pacific on its doorstep, the range and freshness of what comes out of these waters is extraordinary.
