Fitment of parts is fairly good, and the Honda V6 seems in scale.
 |
You can see the metail
part, which I mentioend in the previosu page, just around the
driver's foot area. There are many issues to fix, but none of them
are terriblly difficult or time-consuming.
 |
The electric motor is
stored in the fuel tank area, and the power is transfered via
sprokets to the shaft which runs through the engine and gear box.
Compared to Tamiya's motorised F-1 kits of the early days, Kawai's
solution seems cleverer. (Did Kawai try to out-do Tamiya?)
 |
Inaccuracies in body
doesn't appear to be caused by the internal mechanism of the kit, so
it could be cause by the lack of reference material back then.
 |
Nose has to be thinner and
narrower, and the rear hump has to be much narrower toward the rear.
 |
These arrows show how the
body will be modified.
 |
After dry fit, I started to like this kit. It's not devastatingly
inaccurate, but it's fairly challenging. Any modeler with styrene
fabrication skills should be able to tackle this kit. |
