Since I found a tuba seller named "Die Tuba" ("The Tuba" in English) on the web, I had been interested much, however I had never heard a faintest rumor of these instruments here in Japan. "Die Tuba" is located in suburbs of Frankfurt selling tubas from St. Petersburg made in a traditional and conservative style. Recently (March 2000) I had a good fortune to visit Frankfurt on a business base and spent a weekend there to visit the shop. I selected to purchase and import to Japan one out from 19 instruments, inexpensive but of good quality.
Here I report how I visited and purchased a tuba at "Die Tuba" from Japan.
