I think Tamiya simplified the front section too much, so I modified it to look more realistic.  Also, the upper suspension brackets were scratchbuilt because the kit lacked the details.  The white parts shown in the picture were made by plastic sheet, while the gray areas were thinned Tamiya putty.  The brackets are also done by plastic sheet, and the screws were made from very thin plastic sheet.  The sharpened tip of a mechanical pen is handy for this task.
The rear cowl of the kit has pins to make it fit the body, but it doesn't look realistic, so I decided to make the contacting surface of the cowl and the body.   I applied oversized plastic sheet along the edge.
I simply trimmed the plastic along the edge.  This will help the cowl to fit the body much better than the pins provided in the kit.  Potential problem remains however, as paint thickness might affect the tolerance.
There is a seam line that goes from the rear quarter pillar to the back of the fin, and the gap was relatively big, so I had to use a coarse sand paper.  The gray part was painted with Mr. Surfacer to fill the small scratches.
After sanding, the seam was eliminated, and the body was ready for final priming.
