Once the unpleasant part of the job was done - ripping up all the planks and then pulling up the plywood - all that was left was cleaning up the mess. I was then left with the bare concrete shell, ready for my own work to start.

In this photo you can see where I have removed the 'patio' doors that open out onto the balcony overlooking the river. This building is right on the riverbank, and if one stands at that railing you see in the background, you look directly down into the water.

I've removed the doors because I'm going to build out onto the balcony space; the new front wall of the room will replace the railing ...
