Description |
The kit is curbside and contains
a minimum number of parts. The body is asymmetrical, and need a lot of work to make
it look right. |
No windows are included
in the kit, so they have to be scratchbuilt by vacuum forming. Also, none of the lights are separate, so
those areas have to be cut out from the body and replaced with scratchbuilt lenses for
better
appearance. |
The
inside of the body indicates that the body is cast only
with a female mold, and it resulted in uneven thickness. |
The chassis is made
of a sheet of metal, and both
wheelbase and tracks are inaccurate. The tire and wheel are cast as
one piece, and
the inner side is nothing but open surface of cast resin. |
The
shape of the seat seems inaccurate and the sculpting is very poor. The
dash represents Mk.VIII's unique design, but engravings are dull and
uneven.
|
The bathtub type interior has the center console and
radio details as well as the rear seats, but no detail is provided on the
doors.
|
In conclusion, none of the parts in this kit are usable. As
a result, the
Lincoln Mk. VIII remains in my scratchbuilding project list. The kit
is probably produced by the enthusiasm of the sculptor, and I give a credit for releasing
the model of the Mk. VIII.
However, the master parts need a lot of refinement, and the mold making and casting
technique seem very primitive. |
