豪華装丁三枚組。日本盤\6,300は、遥か昔、Yessongs購入した時と同じような気分になってしまった。
訳して頂いてありがたかったけれども、、、。
Trevor Rabin在籍時のものを除くと、繰り返し聞くには厳しいが、貴重な音源のオンパレードである。
Steveの秘蔵音源が多く含まれるそうだが、Guitarが前面に出ているものが多いように思う。
Sound Chaserについては、既出のQPRでのコンサート版では酷い録音状態だったので、今回
その圧倒的プレイがまともに聴けた上に、Patrickの強力なLong soloも収められていて感激した。
また、America, Siberian, AwakenでのSteveのSoloには、凄まじい勢いを感じる。

冒頭から危機を配して、余裕というか、楽しいVideoである。オーケストラとの共演ということでSymphonic
musicのようではと心配していたが、Classicをたしなむといっても、すでにRock,POPを通過している若い世
代、全くの杞憂に終わった。のりのりかつ、Video収録まで十分意識していたと思われる美形揃い。ラストの
オケメンバーダンスシーンは、圧巻。Yesメンバーのにやけ方といったらもう。
曲は、危機、錯乱の扉、儀式と、大作を３つも配し、意欲的。Long ditanceは、懐かしい。ただし、新曲の
受けは、今一つ。贅沢な悩みだろうな。助演のKey Tomは、自分から売り込んだだけあって全編アクション
込みで、グッドサポート。

さてさて、どんなサウンドなのだろう。Symphnic Music YESの二の舞はして欲しくない。

第一回目。一曲目の勢いに期待しながら聴き進んでいくうちに心地よい気分になり
不覚にも寝てしまった！あらためて仕切り直して、じっくり聴くと、、、、
竜頭蛇尾。1.をピークに、なだらかに下がっていくのがわかった。
9.は、Liveでも取り上げられているだけあって佳曲。
聞き取れたかつての断片は、2nd、ChrisのSolo、AWBH、K.Crimson、Openyoureyes、90125など。
Orchestraとの融合は、心配するどころか大成功といえる。Rock Beatに良く付いてきている。
ストリングス、管とも絡み具合も絶妙で編曲者の勝利。4.は、オケあっての曲の様。
おまけのような10.本当のおまけ11.は、可もなく不可もなし。後は、来日を祈るだけ。

Igor Khoroshevの活躍が特筆すべき点。
Rickを真似るところ、出るところ、サポートするところと、よくやっている。
Yours〜は遅目だが、その分演奏がしっかり聴ける。
Perpetual〜は、アレンジを変えてきた。Yessongs時のように、くどくなくてそれな
りに良い。Homeworldは、良く再現していてGood。Awakenは、ようやくスタジオ版に
近づいて天上まで連れて行ってもらえる。
The Ladderから４曲、80年以降の曲も混ぜて洗練された印象あり。聴きやすい。

久々の快作。発売当時は、毎日聴いていました。
「THE Ladder」,「New Language」が特によいですね。
Jon主導過ぎるという評もあるが、JonあってのYesと思っているのでＯＫ
本作は、Jonの声に圧倒的な存在感があり、旧諸作の（YESの）エッセンスが詰まった
曲が多く、70年代Yesフリークの私には、嬉しい内容。
不満をいえば、ソロ部分が少ない、クラシックぽい要素が少ない、プログレぽくない
グループサウンドになっているところ。（気に入っている割には、いろいろあるなぁ。(^^ゞ
南米／全米ツアーも終わり、ヨーロッパツアーを終えたらさっさと日本に来て欲しいね。
なお、本作の試聴会(主催？ YES Family Fan Club)を体験後、入会しました。（会員番号No.436）

序盤○。中盤からだれる。ラストは○
「捨て曲が無いように（Chris）」これでもかのアレンジは聞きごたえあるが、
「曲主体のアルバム（Jon）」の割には、肝心の曲に魅力が少ない。
「猛烈にあっという間に生まれた（Jon）」アイディアは、私の琴線に触れない。
分厚いコーラスは圧巻だが、芯がなくぼやけて聞こえる。
JONの声を強調するなりして編集できなかったのか。
ライブ再開のきっかけとしての役割にとどまる。
