The abdomen of the male of a Club-tailed Dragonfly has a characteristic form, and like a stick, the tip came out from the root a little, and it has swollen. The compound eye of Club-tailed Dragonfly is greatly far apart right and left. By many specieses, there is various black, yellow, or green signs that it clarified. Copulation is performed in a thicket. An egg is produced by the shallow portion of water when a scalpel strikes the water surface at the abdomen tip. A larva lives in a sea bed, and in order that it may arrest game, it crawls on and turns around it, or it hides in sand bottom.
