The detail of
NISSAN Super HICAS 4
wheel steering is well represented. The diffuser is molded clear, so the detail can
still be seen through it. I was going to use carbon fiber decal, so I didn't add any detail to
this area. |
The front suspension detail
would also be
hidden by a flat plate, so I made it straight out of the box. |
The
interior was almost finished. I used my ALPS printer to print the
decal for the center console. |
After
I carefully removed the seam lines with sand paper, I polished the body,
and I glued the front and rear bumpers to the body. Then I mounted
the body, rear view mirror and wing stay to a spray can as shown. |
I
coated the body with Mr. Surfacer 1200 spray several times until it was
evenly applied. When priming was done, I checked the body, and made
sure that those scratches, made while removing the seam lines, were filled
with primer. |
I
decided to paint the body metallic blue as it's an image color of the
R34. For the base color, I chose Gunze's Mr. Color spray #80 cobalt
blue, so that the body color would appear different from the New Beetle
that I put together before.
The photo shows the stage with first few coats of base color, and the
primer layer can be seen through.
