About the Kit |
Tamiya captured the aggressive
body style very well. The front and rear bumpers are separate, as well as the lower
side panels. |
The bottom of the kit features well
detailed multi link suspension, but are hidden by the under panels. The panels are
molded clear, and can be left unpainted to show the suspension details, but I will use
carbon fiber decals to make it look more realistic. |
The interior parts are sharply molded,
but the side panels are a little shallow. The pedals are molded with the dashboard
part. Left hand steering dashboard is not included, since the car is only available
in Japan and a few selected countries for the time being. The shifter and parking
brake handles are separate. The steering column and airbag equipped steering wheel
are also separate. |
The dashboard mounted screen is the
multi-function display. It can display one or two gauges in any combination.
The base model has seven read outs, such as throttle, fuel injector, boost meter, oil
temp., volt meter, water temp. and front wheel torque. The V-Spec has additional two
sensors, intake and exhaust temperatures. It can also display TV and GPS navigation
screen, when equipped as factory options. The kit only comes with a GT-R logo decal,
and it would look much better if it's replaced with a custom decal to represent
them. |
The first modification, that I did to
the kit, was to drill many holes on the brake disks to represent the optional brembo
rotors. The other optional equipment, that I'm planning to add, are the oil cooler
inlet frame, outlet louver and water injector nozzles for the intercooler. The kit
includes the decal for brembo logo for the front calipers. They are standard
equipment for all grades. |
