As far as I know, this Cobra R kit and the Convertible are the only
current generation Mustang produced in 1/24 scale. The kit is just like Mazda RX-7 kit,
which has upper engine details, but no separate oil pan, drive shaft etc. This kit
was reviewed in SAE a while ago, and it was quite complete, so I have a little to say
here. Molds are sharp, the wheels and tires look nice, and clear parts are thin,
even and smooth. Although the engine details are a little bit over simplified
compared to American kits, it'll be As mentioned in SAE, I'll correct minor inaccuracies,
and make it a fully detailed factory stock model. I'm wondering what color I should
choose. Although Cobra-R was available only in white, white car model doesn't stand
out very well. Since the real car was almost like a custom made for enthusiasts, I
should be able to choose any color. Or, I can paint it white and add pearl coat or
something to make it appear somewhat different.
Anyway, I'll definitely enjoy making this kit. |
