It looks like a modified Porsche, but it's not an ordinary tuned Porsche.
Strictly speaking, the cars produced by RUF are not tuned Porsches, because RUF is
a certified automobile manufacturer. The raw parts are supplied by Porsche, so the
company is different from Kenig or Gemballa. The CTR was dubbed as the fastest
production car in the world with the top speed of 210 mph back in 1987. Although
RUF complete cars are essentially custom made, there are at least two major variations,
one is comfort, and the other is sport. The curbside model in this project will be a
comfort model because I don't want to spend too much time on modifying the interior.
The sport model, on the other hand, doesn't have the rear seats, and the front
seats are replaced with Recaro's bucket seats.
Ever since I came across this car, I've been working on the conversion work, but it
hasn't been completed yet. The picture above shows how it looks now. The front
and rear bumpers were scratchbuilt so were the wheels and rear wing. The door
mirrors and the exhaust headers were also scratchbuilt. The rear fender was widened
a little to accommodate the correct Dunlop D40 taken from another Fujimi kit.
