Lamborghini Diablo

Fujimi's Diablo kit is the only one which has swing up doors. Although the door hinge isn't quite accurate, it's nice to be able to display the model with the door open. The kit is the 2WD version and requires some work if you want to make the VT version. The kit is using a different kind of plastic, and it has a unique screw-on construction. The kit has a simplified engine and suspension detail and look adequate.

This is the third Diablo I've made. I sold the first one, which was made by Italeri, and I screwed up painting the second one, so it's still in the box.

This kit was painted with Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Color, and custom mixed pearl yellow was sprayed with an airbrush. Then Tamiya spray clear was used for the finishing work.

As usual, Tamiya and Modeler's polishing compound were used before waxing.

Note: Revell's Diablo is a detailed kit with complete engine details, and it is simply amazing for a snap together kit. Combining these two kits, it's possible to make a highly detailed model of the Diablo.
