For two years, I have been photographing Amur tigers around Petrov Bay.
Because of this, we are confident that one male and one female live in this area.
Moreover, I became familiar with their behavioral patterns.
Since we frequently saw footprints in this bay, we decided to build a photography hut before winter arrived.
The observation hut in Petrov Bay has the best conditions for a base camp. It is necessary to relax during long-term interviews, and in the unlikely event that an accident occurs, this observation hut will be a lifeline. I couldn't think of any other place to try visually photographing Amur tigers.
In order to avoid making noise during long-term interviews, what we had to do in Japan was to carry all the equipment, daily necessities such as sleeping bags, water and food to the Surekiya Tsukushiiza shooting hut, and prepare for filming in the dangerous bay. It was November 30, 2011, the sixth day after arriving in Lazo.
After an hour's walk from the guard hut, we entered the forest from Petrov Bay, passed through a sandy bay, then passed through a smaller sandy bay and climbed up a stream, where the blue sea came into view once again. Install sensor A here
On the cape that separates the sandy bay from the small sandy bay, there are large boulders of 2 to 3 meters rolling around. The footprints of Amur tigers are dotted here...Sensor B is installed here.
Since the sun does not shine in this forest, there is a high possibility that snow will remain until spring. I want to take pictures of Amur tigers walking on the snow. Install sensor C here
