日本では「金髪のジェニー」というタイトルでよく知られているが英語の歌詞には明るい茶色の毛"light brown hair”と歌っている。この曲を初めて紹介した津川主一氏によると茶色の髪と歌うより金色の髪の方がメロディーにマッチしているので金髪にしたそうだ。そもそも、この歌はフォスターの妻ジェーンのために作ったもので実際彼女の髪は綺麗な茶色だった。また、津川氏が” Jeannie ”をジニーとせずジェニーとしたのも妻の愛称がジェニーであったことから変更したと言われている。『Choko's note：かわいい魔女ジニーＮＯＴＥＢＯＯＫ（http://www2.famille.ne.jp/~choko-h/jeannie/Foster.htm）による』
