Polypterus is covered to the ganoid scale of the lozenge. The dorsal fin consists of small fins from 5 to 18. Each fin consists of one splinter and soft stripe muscle more than two of them. Polypterus is a meaning called a lot of fins. It is nocturnal and is carnivorous. The oldest fossil is a thing of the latter period in the Cretaceous.
