Travel Information
(A) When and where to come
When you are making travel arrangements, please be sure to arrive in
Sapporo by 26 March. Registration for the workshop starts at 9:30 on
27 March.
The conference will be held at Hokkaido University campus, but NOT at
the University Conference Hall. The venue is Building `W' or `Humanities
and Social Sciences Classroom Building'. A map can be downloaded from
here .
(B) Lodging Information
There are numerous hotels in Sapporo, but we recommend two hotels that
are conveniently located from the main train station and our university
campus.
Option 1: Sapporo Aspen Hotel
We recommend this hotel.
It offers very reasonable rates for on-line self-booking through
internet. For details, please see
http://www.aspen-hotel.co.jp/english/frame.htm .
Option 2: Budget Option
We recommend Toyoko-Inn `Sapporo-eki Nishi-guchi Hokudai Mae'. This
budget hotel is located in front of the University main gate. You can
make a self-booking by the internet, phone or fax.
Free and simple breakfast (rice balls, miso soup, juice, and pastries) is
served everyday at the hotel lobby.

(D) A note on Eating in Sapporo
Our conference does not provide you with meals except for the reception
on Saturday 27 and the conference dinner on Sunday 28. A meal in a proper
restaurant costs over 1,000 JPY, but more reasonable options are available
at small restaurants on and around the campus and convenience stores
(e.g. Seven Eleven, Family Mart, Seiko Mart, etc.) around the campus.
For more information, please consult us on site.
