Cockpit of the AMT/ERTL kit
As stated in the review section, AMT/ERTL's cockpit detail is fair, but not as good as the Revell/Monogram kit.  No matter how carefully you paint the gauges, they just don't look as good as the R/M kit, which features a decal and clear plate.

Windshield installation
After test-fitting the windshield part, I discovered that the fit is very poor.  What happens is that the front pins don't grab the holes, creating a gap between the part and the body.  To prevent this, I glued the front part firmly as shown.  After it's completely dried, I glued the rear part.

Finished model
Since this model is intended to be box stock, everything else is straightforward.  I put the chassis and body together, then I installed the engine and drive-train.  The suspension and wheels were glued last to make sure all four wheels touch the ground.

It took me almost a year to complete this Corvette comparison project, but it was finally done.  I thoroughly enjoyed building two kits of this awesome sports car.  I wish at least one of them is in 1/24 scale. (Grumble, grumble grumble)
More pictures of the AMT/ERTL are available in the Finished Projects page.

This concludes my C5 comparison article.
