The Strike Dog was made a few month after
the Scope Dog was built. I only finished two armored trooper
kits.
The proportion of the kit was kept as it was, and I modified a little
such as working mechanism on the left arm, and the knee joints just like
the Scope Dog.
The camera assembly can be slid sideways along the slit. The lenses are made of clear resin. The
hidden gun was plastic pipe, and I used a 2 mm rod with a square cross
section for the sliding hinge.
The cockpit wasn't so detailed, so I scratchbuilt
the seat and added extra details on each sides and inside the
head. I made a hinge on the back of the hatch so that it can be
opened.
The knee joints are connected to
scratchbuilt links. The links were designed by drawing the section
view of the entire leg on a sheet of paper, and the location of
the pivots were determined by tracing the motion of the link parts.
Custom mixed Mr. Color acrylic lacquer was
used for the body, and the paint was sprayed by using an airbrush. The paint chips were drawn by hand, and scratches were
dry-brushed.
