４回目のデート中。 どうしてこんなに長く複雑で混沌としてやるせない作品なのか。 つらつら考えながら、雑誌のインタビュー記事も読んで納得した。 娯楽作品に、世情を持ち込むのは、セールス的にはご法度と思える。 しかし、あえてそれをした。 それだけ、パットには、アンハッピーの時代なのだ。 かの国の一部の狂気が、秩序を乱している事実。 ムービースターが、今となっては、一握りのバンドのみが 表明しているように、例えれば、ピカソのゲルニカのような まさにプロテストソングなのだ。 ☆は、あくまで聴きやすさを優先しているので、３だが、 理解して聞けば素直に聴こえてくる、重要作品である。 (Feb.11, 2005)

Live映像が店頭に並ぶのが早くなったのか、映画並に意外と早く出た。 まさに待望のDVD。待ちつづけて結局行けなかった日本公演を知ることができてうれしい。 聴き所満載であるが、新メンバーの活躍が魅力である。 ScrapでのCoung、Richardの、意外にマッチするソフトなVocalに、On her wayイントロでの ひとりコーラス、BilbaoでのGeorge Bensonをはるかに超えるスキャット付のベースプレイに 何者?!と驚愕、Antonioのフレキシブルかつセンシティブかつシャープでパワフルなシャワー のようなプレイ。どれもが、エクセレント。さらに、Patは、The roots、Bilbaoで、いままで 以上のアグレッシブさを見せたが、これは、新メンバーに触発されたせいではないか。 ４☆の理由は、ほとんど見えない映像が散見されるため。コントラストを甘くしないと見えない。 部分ごとに調整して出して欲しかったなぁ。 (May.30,2003) ５☆に変更。連日見ているが、まったく感嘆させられる素晴らしい作品である。映像を無くして 聴く方が、冴え渡って聴こえる。Patは、相変わらず弾き過ぎる位弾きまくっているし、バランス もすごく良い。映像もいいけれど、純粋にサウンドを聴くとその真髄がわかる。若干、ハウリング を起こしかけているところもあるが、気にならない。 (Jun.8,2003)

第９期ＰＭＧ またしてもやられました。どうしてこうも素晴らしい作品を生み出し続けられる のか。１曲目から、痺れっぱなし。当分は、浸っています。 (Feb.26,2002)

第８期ＰＭＧ 傑作。「いい曲」集でなく、「凄い」曲集といえる。1.5.7.が、特に力作。 これらは、観客を対峙させる。聴きつづけるのはハード。間に優しい曲が挟 まれているが、緊張を取り切る間もなく、次の大きな波に飲みこまれる。意欲 に燃えた新境地の作品。 中野サンプラザ Imaginary Days Tour来日ライブも体験した。 音は、まるでロックコンサートのようにでかく、7．のときは堪えた。

第７期ＰＭＧ Geffin最後の作品。Qualtetでのインプロバイズを試みている。 ポップなLiveを演奏してきたことへの反動か、Darkに感じる。ユニークで好みの 偶然の産物もあるが全体的に近寄りがたい。ジャケットやＣＤは、メンバー写真 のコラージュで気に入っているのだが。 (May 6, 2000)
