In the end of September 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood made a two days trip from Shiotadaira to Azumino.
First Day
They started Nagano in a rented car. They visited Shiotadaira where they passed in 1999. They stopped in Kitamuki Kannon in Bessho Hot Spring

Then they drive through mountain area and finally reached Azumino just before sun set.
Second Day
They visited starting point to Mt. Chogatake and Mt. Jonen. They found a gang of wild monkeys.

Then, they visited a house of a village headman in the Edo period. This estate has over 300 years history and all trees are big. An English engineer called Mr. Weston stayed in this house when he climbed Mt. Jonen about 100 yeas ago. He is a man who introduced Japanese the joy of climbing high mountains like Japan Alps.

They enjoyed driving country side and visited a hose Mr. Greenwood lived about 60 years ago at the age of 4.
