Environ Mission are going to install 1,000 meter high and having a diameter of 150meter draft tower. At the bottom of the tower, the 5km-diameter desert will be covered with glass and plastic plate. Warmed air is sucked into the tower and drive 200MW windturbines. More details are discussed here.
