Harley Davidson History

The image of Harley Davidson was imprinted to Mr. Greenwood's brain when he saw American movie "Easy Rider" in 1960s. It was directed by Dennis Hopper, acted by Peter Fonda(Quotation Serial No.72) and Jack Nicholson.

Similar experience was repeated on route 5  from Los Angeles when he saw a man riding trike mounted with Forks Vargen Beetle's Air cooled engine and ape hanger and forward control system.

In October 1994, Mr. Greenwood acquired Harley Davidson Softail Custom (FXSTC) 1995 model. It is the closest substitute of long forked, slim front wheeled, and forward controlled chopper rode by Peter Fonda.

In July 21 1995, Mr. G. visited Hakone with Mr. Oshikawa of Chigasaki.

Nikkei Sangyou Shinbun of  September 1995 reported about Mr. Greenwood and Harley Davidson. Due to the article, Mr. Greenwood acquainted with Mr. Uchida of Tokyo and Mr. Ishihara of Rotary Club Sakai Chapter.

In May 1996, Mr. Uchida made a second ride across North American Continent. Mr. Greenwood supported the event.

In May 1996, Ishihara Riders Group was organized. Mr. Ishihara was a chief because he was a center of the activities and eldest (69 years old at that time). Messrs. Ishihara, Iizuka, Sawada, Ohosuka from various Chapter of Rotary Club, Oshikawa and Mr. Greenwood were original members.

In 1996, Mr. Greenwood joined HOG Japan.

In November 1996, Mr. Greenwood changed original handle to high buckhorn handle and straight riser.

In October 9 1997, Mr. Greenwood opened radio communication cannel on 145MHz band.

In August 1997, Mr. Greenwood added small sport food. He has to changed back to original riser.

In June10 1998, Mr. Greenwood found Harley Davidson in Ljublijana, Slovenia.

In August 1998, at a mileage of 16,000k, Mr. Greenwood changed tires, battery, plugs and gasket of chain case. Acquired front fork tool bag.

In January 1, 2000, 5 years has passed since starting riding HD. Run 21,366km.

In the summer of 2001, Mr. Greenwood obtained 10,000 mile budge.

In February 2002, Mr. Greenwood's total mileage reached 30,000km in New Zealand touring.

In October 2005, Mr. Greenwood's total mileage reached 40,525km after Shikoku touring.

In October 7, 2007, Mr. Greenwood changed brake pad and terminated membership of HOG.
