Webmaster received following mail from a gentleman who owns and rent Grand Cayman Luxury Oceanfront Villas! conveniently located on superb Seven Mile and other tranquil beaches!
"YOU HAVE A LOVELY PICTURE, BUT IT DEFINITELY IS NOT FO SEVEN MILE BEACH!
NO POINT ON THE ISLAND OF GRAND CAYMAN RISES AS MUCH AS 16 METERS, AND YOUR
PHOTO SHOWS BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS RISING OUT OF THE SEA. THIS PHOTO MUCH MORE
RESEMBLES ST. THOMAS OR JAMAICA, MAYBE EVEN ANY NUMBER OF ISLANDS IN
THE SOUTH PACIFIC OR INDONESIA.... BUT IT DEFINITELY IS NOT ON THE VERY FLAT
SURFACE OF GRAND CAYMAN."
Actually the photograph was taken from the terrace of Webmaster's residence in Seven Mile Beach in Japan. Approximate location is 139 degree 30 minutes of east longitude and 35 degree 18 minutes north (WGS).
The mountains rising out of the sea is Miura Peninsula. At the other side of Miura Peninsula, there is Tokyo Bay. Seven Mile Beach is facing Sagami Bay which is open to the Pacific Ocean. Seven Mile Beach is surfers favorite spot due to its high rising wave.
