Since EVs such as the Leaf were commercially available, the Matsumoto branch has not had any ideas for activities for the past 10 years. As Tesla and Leaf became less common in the city of Matsumoto, inquiries to the branch were no longer available.
As an electrical safety specialist, I believe that Li-ion batteries should not be handled by laymen. Safety standards have become stricter, and if you can't do even a very simple kit, I think handmade EVs with numbers are no longer realistic in Japan.
Based on the above, after consulting with the members, it was decided that this year, the 30th anniversary, the activities of the Matsumoto branch will be suspended, and the activities of the branch will be suspended for the end of 2024. In 1995, I converted my Citroen 2CV to an EV, and for 30 years I was able to gain a lot of experience and good friends. While thanking everyone, I will put a break in the activities of the branch. Thank you very much.
I will leave this site for a while. I hope you will enjoy it as a record of the early days of EVs from the late 1990s.
