Wat Xieng Khuan is 16 miles(26km) southeast from Vientiane.
"Wat" means temple, but not in this case. About 40 years ago, a monk who masterd Hinduism and Buddhism created his religious world in this place. There are innumerable Buddhist statues influenced by Hindu religion.
When I went there, I met a monk who took little novis monks. He was teaching the Buddha story to them.
