Hardy cacti from high desert of USA
Pedio&Sclero are one of the group that adapts itself well to the severest environment of all cacti. Their habitat are western dry region in US, Most of the area is higher latitude as same as Japan. So they are living in cold climate under -20c in winter as time. But on the other hands it has spell of dry weather over 40c in summer. Therefore they live through the driest, coldest and hotest condition. Because Sclero&Pedio have adapted such as a hard environment, they are so delicate plants. Since they adapt the unuseal environment, we need some techniques for cultivation and so they are called "a hard character". I had trip their habitat and I am deep impressed their appearance that they servive strongly at the too hard condition for the existence of the plants. Then, as a result of knowledge about their wildness, I have carved out the way of their cultivation as one might say it's so difficult little by little.
