Comet Hyakutake shines near Polaris, the "north star," in this
photograph taken at 0:00 a.m.-2:00 a.m. on March 27, 1996. The photograph was taken after
moonset through thin cirrus clouds. The comet remains visible in the evening
sky, although moonlight interferes with seeing it at its best.
