N.W.A. North American Tag Team Title
The team of Inoki and Seiji Sakauguchi, who joined New Japan after leaving JWA, was known as "Golden Combo." The Golden Combo walked their days with the NWA North American Tag Team Title.

The Golden Combo won the title, defeating Kurt Von Hess & Karl Von Schotz at Los Angeles Olympic Auditorium. However, it was also announced as "NWF World Tag Team Title" at the time, and the origin of the title is uncertain.

By defending the title against Andre the Giant's team, Tiger Jeet Singh's team, etc., it was once the main tag team title of the New Japan; however, Inoki vacated the title in 1976 when he wanted to concentrate on a mixed martial art match against Willem Ruska.

Thereafter, the title was held by Sakaguchi & Strong Kobayashi, Singh & Umanosuke Ueda, Hiro Matsuda & Masa Saito, & Sakaguchi & Riki Choshu, and was abandoned in 1981. See the detailed history of the title, courtesy of The Great Hisa's Puroresu Dojo.
