    1. - Eye of Heaven - (Sun, 04 Jan 1998 19:00 EST)
      After the death of her father (Michael Moriarty), Emily's(Martha MacIsaac) Murray relatives draw lots to determine who must take her in. An imaginative child with deeply felt emotions, Emily immediately dislikes her harsh Aunt Elizabeth (Susan Clark). Her heart nearly breaks when Elizabeth forces her to abandon Pandora, her cat.

    2. - Storms of the Heart - (Sun, 11 Jan 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily arrives at New Moon still shaken by the loss of her father. Terribly unhappy, she sneaks out of bed and runs to the train station. There she meets Charles Dickens, who shows her that experiencing the hardships of New Moon will furnish her with enough plots to last a writer's lifetime. Through it all, Emily refuses to be dominated by her Aunt Elizabeth while Aunt Laura (Sheila McCarthy), Cousin Jimmy (Stephen McHattie) and the new choreboy, Perry Miller (Kris Lemche), become her allies. Emily finds Pandora and discovers writing paper - both cat and paper are forbidden her by her Aunt. Elizabeth catches her writing in the attic and they have a tumultuous showdown.

    3. - The Book of Yesterday - (Sun, 18 Jan 1988 19:00 EST)
      Elizabeth horrifies Emily with the announcement that she will attend school. There, the children taunt cousin Jimmy, causing him to suffer a disturbing flashback to the time of his childhood accident. The episode culminates in Jimmy accusing Elizabeth of pushing him down the well. Later, Jimmy becomes Emily's hero when he saves Pandora's life.

    4. - The Disappointed House - (Sun, 25 Jan 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily develops a crush on good looking Teddy Kent (Shawn Roberts), one of the boys at school. He follows her to the Disappointed House and impulsively kisses her. Suddenly, time rolls back and Emily witnesses the tragic event that destroyed two long-ago lovers. This vision shakes the house to its foundations, trapping Emily and Teddy inside.

    5. - Paradise Lost - (Sun, 1 Feb 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily and Ilse are convinced that Lofty John Sullivan, a lonely old recluse is the devil reincarnated. They sneak into his barn on a dare; old John tricks Emily into eating an apple which he then claims is poisoned. Now Emily is certain she will die; but when all she experiences are violent stomach cramps. Now the ancient feud between Lofty John and the Murrays escalates into all out war when the old man seeks revenge by chopping down the glorious forest that has been on Murray land forever.

    6. - The Enchanted Doll - (Sun, 8 Mar 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily meets little Juliet, the ghost of her mother as a child. Juliet's doll connects Emily with both the past and the future; it brings joyful memories into Jimmy's life and kindles a new and startling romance for Laura.

    7. - Falling Angels - (Sun, 15 Mar 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily and Ilse befriend Maida Flynn, a rough young girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Learning she is pregnant, homeless and poverty stricken, they hide Maida in the Disappointed House. But Maida's pains come too fast and the girls find themselves actually delivering the baby. Emily is stunned to learn the father is her own cousin, Oliver Murray. Maida, realizing she can give the child nothing, abandons the infant at the church. Emily is determined to adopt the child herself.

    8. - The Tale of Duncan McHugh - (Sun, 22 Mar 1998 19:00 EST)
      Poverty ridden and depressed, Alma McHugh, barely pays any attention to her young misfit son, Duncan. When Emily sees Duncan crying at a public hanging, she wonders if it is his father on the gallows. Her attempts to befriend the child drives Elizabeth into a rage. A wrenching scene between Alma and Elizabeth culminates with the realization that it is little Duncan McHugh who suffers for the sins of others.

    9. - The Wild Rover - (Sun, 29 Mar 1998 19:00 EST)
      A strange twist of events has the crabby teacher, Miss Brownell, falling in love with Mr. Plover, the school inspector. She leaves her position to marry him and is replaced by Francis Carpenter (Chip Chuipka), a gentle young man who becomes Emily's mentor. However, when Mr. Carpenter turns up drunk, Elizabeth is bound and determined to see him fired.

    10. - The Ghost of Wyther Grange - (Sun, 5 Apr 1998 19:00 EST)
      During a visit with her eccentric great-aunts, Caroline and Nancy, Emily hears the horrible rumor that Beatrice Burnley (Ilse's mother) ran away with her seafaring cousin. Distraught, Emily bolts into the night where she gets caught in the jaws of an animal trap. World-weary Dean "Jarback" Priest hears her cries and carries her to safety.

    11. - A Child Shall Lead Them - (Sun, 12 Apr 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily searches for the truth about Ilse's (Jessica Pellerin)long lost mother, Beatrice Burnley. Ilse embarks on her own quest, and subtly, Beatrice's ghost manipulates their actions until the girls find one another in the frozen forest. Ilse nurses Emily, who is delirious with fever. In the raging delirium, Emily discovers the stange, sad fate of Ilse's mother.

    12. - A Winter's Tale - (Sun, 12 Apr 1998 20:00 EST)
      Just when Mr. Bowles turns up the pressure on his quest to win Laura's hand, Dr. Burnley realizes that he too has feelings for her. Emily and Ilse take a keen interest in the romantic triangle until tragedy strikes. Pandora is mauled by a wild animal. As Mr. Burnley (Richard Donat) fights to save the cat, he and Laura share a bittersweet moment.

    13. - The Sound Of Silence - (Sun, 19 Apr 1998 19:00 EST)
      Elizabeth finds Emily's secret "letter bills" and reads the horrid things written about her. The two have a titanic clsh of will. Banned from writing, Emily is desolate until Pierrot, a mime, shows her how to tell stories without words.

    1. - Summer of Sorrows - (Sun, 04 Oct 1998 19:00 EST)
      Tragedy strikes New Moon as Aunt Elizabeth (Susan Clark) is lost at sea. Adding to Emily (Martha MacIsaac), Laura (Sheila McCarthy) and Jimmy's (Stephen McHattie) worries is the fact that Elizabeth has borrowed heavily from the family's Scottish relatives to finance New Moon. These unknown relatives are the de facto owners of their home.

    2. - And So Shall They Reap - (Sun, 11 Oct 1998 19:00 EST)
      The Murray's are devastated by the loss of Elizabeth (Susan Clark). Jimmy (Stephen McHattie) confesses his deep love for her. Emily (Martha MacIssac) realizes that Elizabeth was their protectress. Trying to escape her fear, Laura (Sheila McCarthy) is becoming addicted to laudanum. Having offered the Scottish Murray's all her worldly possessions in return for New Moon, Emily receives a letter announcing that the relatives are on their way to P.E.I. to claim what is theirs.

    3. - Something Wicked This Way Comes - (Sun, 18 Oct 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily is full of conflicting emotions after Elizabeth's death. Although she had rebelled against Elizabeth's rigid discipline, they had started to develop a relationship with a measure of love. Emily is deeply troubled by the pain suffered by Laura and Jimmy. Jimmy breaks down and tells Emily how Elizabeth had been like a mother to him. Laura takes increasing doses of laudanum, suffers inertia and takes to her bed. Malcolm Murray sends a letter saying he won't accept Emily's "wee diamond" as payment on the loan, and that he and Isabel are coming to PEI to claim New Moon as their own.

    4. - Where Angels Fear To Tread - (Sun, 25 Oct 1998 19:00 EST)
      Tension mounts after Isabel Murray takes over New Moon. Emily is forbidden from attending school. She must, instead, earn her own keep. Isabel also decrees that, in order to feed the family, Jimmy must slaughter one of his beloved cows. And she relieves Laura of the household keys.

    5. - The Witches' Spell Book - (Sun, 8 Nov 1998 19:00 EST)
      Playing hide and seek with Emily and Ilse, Teddy falls down an embankment. Before they can reach him, Mad Man Morrison bundles Teddy off to Dr. Brunly. Teddy's possessive mother believes that Emily is trying to steal her son away and secretly plots to link Emily romantically with Mad Man Morrison. Guest star: Greg Malone as Mad Man Morrision.

    6. - By the Rivers of Babylon - (Sun,15 Nov 1998 19:00 EST)
      New Moon is for sale and snooty Stuart plans to buy it. As Laura's addiction to laudanum worsens, Isabel commits her to an asylum without consulting the family. Emily rallies Jimmy, Dr. Brunley anf Uncle Malcolm.

    7. - A Time To Heal - (Sun, 29 Nov 1998 19:00 EST)
      Life can get so complicated. Emily and Ilse are growing up and starting to ask questions about the facts of life. Questions not asked in Blair Water. To the town's consternation, Dr. Burnley is conducting milk pasteurization tests. Fed up with smallmindedness, Dr. Burnley accepts a position in Boston at the Massachusetts's General Hospital. It would also give him a chance to find a mother for Ilse as his love for Laura Murray remains unrequited. Emily and Ilse attempt to run away together but before they can get anywhere, Malcolm falls deathly ill giving Dr. Burnley a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of Isabel and the people of Blair Water.

    8. - The Devil's Punchbowl - (Sun, 6 Dec 1998 19:00 EST)
      Reverend Nicholas Pitch, a preacher from away, appears in Blair Water encouraging townspeople to rid their souls of the Devil. Immediately, devil sightings are rampant sending Emily, Ilse, Teddy and Perry scrambling for answers. Who is the Devil? What does he or she or it look like? Hysteria reigns. The Devil is sighted everywhere; friends blame foes, friends accuse friends, relatives fear relatives. Laura Murray suddenly turns calm. Reverend Pitch attributes her renewed sense of well-being to the devil leaving her body. Emily and her friends conduct an exorcism to drive Him out of Blair Water once and for all. Guest star: William Hutt as Reverend Nicholas Pitch.

    9. - Pins And Needles, Neeles And Pins, When A Man Gets Married, His Trouble Begins - Part One - (Sun, 13 Dec 1998 19:00 EST)
      Emily and her friends pray to St. Agnes, the Patron Saint Of Young Women, in hopes of ensuring a happy marriage for themselves. The plea is sent by the girls bu the lucky person who finds LOVE is, actually, Jimmy Murray. The Kinches, a hard scrabble Catholic family of four, seek refuge at New Moon after their farm is wiped out by a tragic fire. Jimmy is drawn to the daughter, Eve, who is whose gentle soul befits that of a Saint. The joys of first LOVE for Jimmy and Eve radiate throughout New Moon but when Eve's abusive father, Abner, finds out, he is outraged. Emily and Ilse do everything they can to bring the shy lovers closer together. Eve is pregnant. Is Jimmy the father?

    10. - Pins And Needles, Neeles And Pins, When A Man Gets Married, His Trouble Begins - Part Two - (Sun, 20 Dec 1998 19:00 EST)
      Deeply in love for the first time, Jimmy Murray plans to build Eve a dream house overlooking the ocean. Still, Eve is pregnant. Emily decides it must be "immaculate conception" and shocks the town by distributing a petition to have Pope Leo XIII of Rome recognize Eve as a Saint. A secret rendezvous between Jimmy and Eve is interrupted by the arrival of the Kinch family. There is a struggle and Abner Kinch is killed. But by who? Refusing to give testimony, even on his own behalf, Jimmy risk everything for the woman he loves.

    11. - When The Bough Breaks - (Sun, 27 Dec 1998 19:00 EST)
      Baby Ollie Murray is abandoned by his father on the Murray's doorstep. Isabel determines that Ollie will be sent to an orphanage. Horrified by this, Emily, Ilse and Perry decide to reunite Ollie with his mother Maida Flynn. Tucking Ollie in a wheelbarrow, the three embark on a clandestine quest full of high hopes and romantic thoughts about motherhood. Their youthful idealism and their hopes of finding Maida dissolve before Aunt Thom, Perry's thieving aunt and her new co-hort, Madame Marlena, a swindling clairvoyant shatter.

    12. - Love Knots - (Sun, 3 Jan 1999 19:00 EST)
      Forbidden by Isabel to enter the "Island Romance Contest", Emily writes "Isabella of the Highlands", and innocent love story with Isabel as the protagonist who loves and loses the great poet, Lord Byron. Ilse finds the story and secretly submits it into the contest. The story wins first prize and is printed on the front page of the Charlottetown Patriot. Emily is shocked but Isabel is outraged and hauls Emily and Laura to Charlottetown to renounce the award. Mr. Bowles, who was thought to be in Paris, shows up with a pregnant Margaux Lavoie. Emily watches Laura succumb to his excuses. In the end, the tangle of love knots unravel; some hearts are broken and bittersweet lessons are learned.

    13. - The Book of Hours - (Sun, 10 Jan 1999 19:00 EST)
      Emily imagines four different outcomes for Laura's wedding day. As each day ends, the action rewinds, springing us back to the beginning. "The Book of Hours," Emily of New Moon's SEASON FINALE, provides fans with an opportunity to see their favourite characters act out their wildest hopes and dreams all in the context of Emily's imagination. The question remains: Does Laura Murray marry Mr. Bowles? Guest stars: Martha Henry, Peter Donaldson, Anna Cameron, Phyllis Diller, Joan Orenstein.
