Insect Stamp of El Salvador

El Salvador which belonged to the Maya civilization zone was governed by Spain for 300 years since 1524, became independent in 1821, passed through participation / division to Central America federation comprising 5 countries such as Guatemala and was born as an independent nation in 1841. The 20th century began, and it was confusion in continuation of a military coup, and in 1990' peace negotiation started it under the intermediation of the United Nations, and an agreement was formed in 1992, and a civil war terminated.
Six kinds of insect stamps were issued from El Salvador in Central America in 1970. In three kinds of normal stamps and three kinds of air mail stamps of a lozenge, although acquisition was difficult because of the large sum, it has received at last.
Six kinds of dragonfly stamps were issued in 1985.
Four kinds of beetle stamps were issued in 1994 more. Kinds drawn as an insect stamp for the first time, such as large-sized Callipogon Longhorn Beetle and a scarab beetle of the Central America specialty, are many and ecological designs, and are one of the favorite stamps.
Five kinds of insect stamps were issued in 2003.
