Butterfly Stamp of Lebanon

Lebanon is a country with a long history, founded by the Phoenicians in 3000 BC, but after being ruled by Persia and the Roman Empire, it was invaded by the Byzantine Empire in the 7th century and was Islamized. From the 16th century onwards, it came under the control of Ottoman Turkey. After World War I, it became a French mandate territory as part of Syria, and in 1926 it separated from Syria to establish a republican autonomous government and declared independence in 1943. The French troops stationed there withdrew in 1946.
The Republic of Lebanon issued six stamps depicting silkworms to commemorate the Sericulture Congress Conference held in the capital, Beirut, in 1930. The silkworm, cocoon, silkmoth and the mulberry plant they feed on are depicted in single colours.
Ten kinds of beautiful relief print multicolor butterfly stamps were issued in 1965.
Three kinds of "Cocoon, Spindle and Silk stamps" were issued in same 1965.
