Insect Stamp of Gabon

In Gabon, most of a country at the same size as Japan are covered in a dense forest in a country right on the equator. It became a French protectorate in 1842 and became a part of French Equatorial Africa in 1910. It became self-government Republic in a French community in 1958 and achieved independence in 1960. In an oil-producing country, It is blessed with mining production resources such as uranium, manganese and produce wood.
Four kinds of stamps which drew the typical beetle of Africa from Gabon were issued in 1978.
Four kinds of insect stamps were issued in 1983. The insect of the Africa specialty is chosen, and it is drawn ecologically, and is one of the favorite stamps.
