   骨抜きにする,(意味・表現を)弱める

   * 液体に「(水を混ぜて)薄める」→相手を刺激しないように提案や発言を弱める

   24時間,休みなく,昼夜を通して

   * 文字通り「24時間営業」「24時間体制」などはこれで間に合う.

   〜と喧嘩する,やりあう

   * up が付くのはアメリカ英語に多い.

   * 体調や成績が「良かったり悪かったり」もこれで言える.

   最後に(結局)〜になる

   急増する,うまく行き始める

   *「離陸する」から意味は連想できる.使えるように練習しましょう.

     企業収益は急増し,株価は上昇している.

   たえず活動して,働きづめの

   * 常に忙しく動いている状態. 誰かが(be〜) または何かを(have〜)の 2通り.
    

   There is a market for those who want full e-mail access on the go.

     常時完全なEメール環境を求めるユーザー向けの市場がある.

148  find one's feet

   自信を持つ/一人前になる

   * 支えや助けがなくても自分でバランスを取って立てるようになること.

     米国株価が回復すればドル相場はしっかりするだろうと多くの人々が思った.
