Now we're really down to the odds and ends. This is a piece of hand-printed notepaper, the sort of thing that used to be very common here in Japan, but which has of course been completely blown away by mechanical products.

The incentive for making it was a commission from the Mainichi newspapers to do a series of columns on 'How to make a woodblock print'. There of course wasn't much space in the columns to give detailed explanations of the printmaking process, so I made this very simple design to use as the example print.
