For the sixth exchange (I
skipped the fifth), I took a hint from an old
Taisho-era kimono. It had been made with the
katagami (paper stencil) dyeing technique,
and I thought that the design would make an
interesting woodblock print.
I took the basic idea from the kimono pattern,
and rearranged it a bit for the print, which forms
a repeatable pattern when joined up vertically or
horizontally.
