In God We Trust
How many times we hear this word, "In God we trust?" I see it in a court room and on coins. But what exactly "In God we trust" means? Does this have simply religious meaning? If it does so, I think it is so ridiculous that people use this phrase in everywhere in American life.
I don't believe in any Gods. I do understand that, and respect others who believes in God. Gods don't have anything to do with American judicial system, or economical system. Justice is justice. Moral decides moral. Religion is something outside the judging system. If I were asked in a court room to say, "I'll be honest to our God," I would never say that. The God some people trust is different from other's. And some don't even believe in. I would say. "I'll be honest to myself, and I believe judge's moral is right, and right in this society.
In America, things are getting out of whack. There are millions of religions nowadays, and why do we still use this old sweet American phrase, "In God We Trust?" I think this is such a disrespect to other people who have other beliefs in this Christian society. White people kept denying everything which is not familiar to them; from denying of the Indians in the early history to denying of new immigrants in the later history.
