Trial Run Under Power

After launching of ROCA, trial run under power was conducted.

Characteristic of the Boat

Fixed outboard engine made it rather difficult to maneuver. It was recommended to approach narrow berth without power.

Characteristic of the berth

Bow-on, port side pontoon (windward pontoon)

Very windy.

Modification of the Boat

Decided to install remote control of engine to increase maneuverability in strong wind.

Installed 24-liter gasoline tank as main and 18-liter as standby.

Modification of the Berth

Additional fenders were added to the pier to protect boat

Accommodation

Necessary gear such as life jackets, oilskins, radio, sleeping bags, cooking utensils, towel, tissue paper, bucket, mop, water horse etc. were furnished.
